PlayStation VR2 is out today. As gamers all around the world strap on their expensive headset for the first time, South Africans won’t be joining in on the fun. I previously reported on the first PS VR2 delay. According to a local retailer Koodoo, this delay pushed the release date from 22 February to 24 February. However, it seems that the delay is even worse than originally communicated. PS VR2 is now set to launch next week in South Africa with orders only being shipped from 28 February.
In an update sent to pre-order customers, Koodoo says that despite every effort to get stock ready for this week, it didn’t happen.
“Despite our every effort, insurmountable inbound supply chain issues will mean that we will not be able to deliver by Friday the 24th Deliveries should start on the 28th February however date of receipt will be dependant on delivery location. As soon as your VR leaves our warehouse you will receive a tracking number. As always we are committed to keeping you updated with the status of your order and appreciate your patience and understanding.”
PlayStation distributor, Gamefinity has yet to comment on the delay. This hardware delay has affected all stock of the PlayStation VR2 headset in the country. It seems all retailers have been forced to push orders to next week.
