Pokémon Day is officially taking place tomorrow, 27 February, and if you’re planning on collecting this year’s Pokémon Trading Card Game promo card, you’re in luck. Various retailers across South Africa have the special Eevee 2025 Pokémon Day card available for customers who purchase over R600 worth of products this week.
Across the country, if you visit any of the select stores or shop online for Pokémon TCG products, you’ll get the promo card to add to your collection. At the moment, the store selection is very limited.
I also don’t trust that purchasing online from stores such as Toys R Us Online will reward you with the card. The list says Toys R Us Online Gateway, but you can’t choose the specific store to purchase from when making online sales. Perhaps stick to enthusiast stores for online purchases to secure a card.
Getting a card is simple. Spend more than R599 at these stores, and you’ll get the card. Apparently, the promo is already available in certain stores, however, Nintendo told me that the Sandton City store will only have stock tomorrow.
At Nexus Hub, you can get the Eevee card as well as join the store to celebrate Pokemon Day and win a load of prizes. Nexus Hub says customers should be at the store at 5pm on 27 February to stand a chance of winning some cool Pokemon prizes. There’s also a casual league meet-up taking place at the same time.
The Nintendo Online Store is currently hosting a Pokemon Day Sale with discounts across a number of products. Items include plushies, toys and collectible. Not so much Pokemon TCG content.
