The upcoming movie will be starring Ryan Reynolds as a talking Pikachu, as well as Justice Smith as Tim Goodman. The new trailer for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu reveals not only Mewtwo but other Pokémon are given a little more screen time, too. A cute herd (what is the collective noun) of Bulbasaur are spotted making their way through a river. A Mime hilariously gives his best performance as, well, a mime. We’re also given a fiery look at a live-action Charizard, who also features in the first gym battle shown from the upcoming POKÉMON Detective Pikachu movie.

Other fan-favourite Pokémon like Snorlax, Eevee, and the adorable Jigglypuff also make appearances in the latest trailer.

Besides Pokémon, the new trailer for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu also gives us more details surrounding the plot details of the upcoming live-action movie. The movie is somewhat based on the 2016-game by the same name and sees Justice Smith’s character of Tim try to find his father who went missing. He encounters a talking Pikachu (motion-capture portrayed by Ryan Reynolds) with amnesia, which only he can understand. The two embark on an adventure together.

POKÉMON Detective Pikachu was directed by Rob Letterman. Unlike Ryan Reynolds, Rita Ora, Suki Waterhouse, and Bill Nighy will appear in the upcoming movie in human form.

Warner Bros. also released a new poster for the upcoming movie, which also features a plethora of Pokémon to find. Have a look below.
