The release date for the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A spin-off game has been leaked. The game was announced last year, though we’ve had no update from developer Game Freak since then. A new slip-up from Amazon has now accidentally leaked the release date. Elsewhere, another leak has revealed that the next Pokemon Presents event is scheduled to take place on Pokemon Day next month.
As revealed by X user Light, a recent listing on the Amazon UK website listed Pokemon Legends Z-A with a launch date of Friday, 15 August 2025. The listing was quickly changed to a placeholder date of 31 December, likely due to an error that accidentally revealed the release date too early. Users on the Reddit post where this news was shared speculated that the release date leak could be legitimate based on Nintendo and Amazon UK having very good standing compared to Amazon USA.
Another leak from Pokemon Go developer Niantic confirmed that a Pokemon Presents showcase will take place on 27 February, which is Pokemon Day. Historically, a Pokemon Presents has always taken place on Pokemon Day since 2021 so this is a safe bet. It’s also possible that Nintendo will reveal the official release date for Pokemon Legends Z-A here along with new information and a trailer.
Probably is an error but Amazon is saying that the release of PLZA will be on Friday, 15 August 2025, some users are reporting this on UK Amazon accounts.
As per default should say 31 December 2025 if the game has no date release. pic.twitter.com/3eIJq7ChRz— Light (@Light_88_) January 8, 2025
Of course, the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 still lingers. Nintendo has yet to set a date for the anticipated console’s announcement. Keep up with all the Switch 2 news, rumours and leaks right here.
As for Pokemon Legends Z-A, Nintendo previously confirmed that the entire game will take place in Lumiose City in the Kalos region, which was first introduced in Pokemon X & Y. Lumiose City is largely inspired by real-world Paris. Beyond that, we know very little about the mysterious game but we’ll surely hear more about it at the upcoming Pokemon Presents showcase in February.
