Game Freak has announced its new action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation. You might know Game Freak for its Pokémon series, but this new game is far from Pokémon. The project was teased back in 2024 and now has a release window for 2026.
Beast of Reincarnation sees players take the role of Emma, who is accompanied on her journey by her canine friend, Koo. According to the game’s official description, Beast of Reincarnation revolves around players journeying across an ominous and ever-changing world where dangerous forests can erupt into the wasteland.
Emma and Koo work together to overcome fierce foes, strengthen their bonds, and wield ‘strange powers of bloom’. Game Freak says Beast of Reincarnation is an action RPG built around “demanding technical combat.” The trailer reveals some of the intense battles players will encounter.
Previously, Beast of Reincarnation was announced as “Project Bloom”. The title was Game Freak’s first major triple-A game outside of the Pokémon series. Take-Two’s Private Division was originally meant to publish the game, but since Take-Two divested itself back in November 2024, it seems that Beast of Reincarnation has now taken up a new publisher called Fictions.
The game doesn’t have a set release date yet, but we will see it sometime next year. It is planned to launch on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PS5.
