The Pokémon Company has announced the next set scheduled to arrive in the Pokémon Card Game collection – Destined Rivals. The set will combine the Japanese Heat Wave Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket together and be translated for English release. You can expect to see it launch on 30 May.
The Pokémon Company says the Destined Rivals will include 83 new cards themed and tagged as Team Rocket’s. It will also include 17 Pokémon ex cards including 10 Trainer Pokémon ex cards. There are 23 illustration rare Pokémon cards, 11 super illustration rare Pokémon cards, and 6 hyper rare gold-etched cards.
The Elite Trailer Box for Pokémon TCG Destined Rivals includes a black and red design with Team Rocket’s Giovanni and Mewtwo. We will likely see a Giovanni’s Mewtwo card in the set.
“Players can choose their allegiance by joining forces with heroic duos like Ethan and Ho-Oh ex or Cynthia and Garchomp ex, or they can embrace mischievous adventure by teaming up with Team Rocket and their Pokémon, such as Mewtwo ex, under Giovanni’s command.”
We will share more details on this upcoming Pokémon TCG set closer to the launch. Right now, the entire collection is still a mystery. However, you can get a glimpse at some of the cards by checking out the Japanese Heat Wave Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket sets. Those cards will be adapted for Destined Rivals.
The Destined Rivals set follows the recent launch of Prismatic Evolutions and the upcoming Journey Together set which is expected to launch on 30 March.
