Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Announced

The Pokemon Company has announced a new Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket mobile. According to the developer, the app will let players experience the joy of collecting Pokemon Trading Cards in a digital form. The app gives players two booster packs daily at no additional cost. Each will contain cards from the popular trading series as well as unique cards that are exclusive to this new app.

The most unique part of this app is how these cards are delivered. The Pokemon Company have crafted unique dioramas for a number of cards so you can almost “dive in” to each card and experience a 3D world. There are also a number of “immersive cards” that once collected, include fully-realized artworks that come to life as you explore the world inside the card.

The trailer gives us a good look at some of the app features. You can collect a whole set of cards from each series. You can trade cards with other users. You can also play the official Pokemon Trading Card game using decks you build. Best of all, it has all been designed for mobile phones.

If anything, this new Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is seemingly a whole new app. The previous Pokemon trading card game app relaunched last year and didn’t go down too well. This app will likely replace it. At the moment there’s no word if your existing TCG account will be able to merge with this new app.

According to details leaked through the app build, it will include various in-game purchases. There are “Poke Gold” purchases available which could be used to buy new booster packs. There’s also a Premium Pass. However, the company hasn’t shared what microtransactions users can expect on the app at launch.

By the look of things, this app will let players collect cards if they don’t want to participate in matches too. It won’t be reliant on playing the game. The app is expected to launch on 30 October for iOS and Android. Pre-registration will start soon. You can find out more on the official website here.
