The Company Company has shared new details on the upcoming features coming to the mobile card-collecting game, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. The app was released on 30 October and has gained millions of downloads since. It is currently one of the most downloaded games on both iOS and Android raking in over $3 million a day.
Of course, if you have been playing the game since launch, you have likely collected most of the cards available in the three booster packs available for opening. This A1 booster pack collection included a few hundred cards but The Pokemon Company says more are coming soon.
On the official Pokemon blog, the company confirmed that by the end of the year, players will have new booster packs to open in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. In addition to that, the app will get its anticipated trading feature in January 2025. However, this trading feature will be limited in scope at launch and only apply to select cards.
As for the booster packs, we don’t know what new cards they will include and how many players will be able to collect. But this news is good news. More cards means more booster packs to open and decks to build.
The Pokemon Company also confirmed that other features are coming to Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. What these features are is unclear. Players are hoping that the game gets more battles to participate in and other ways to earn items. There’s also been quite a lot of criticism regarding the game’s secret missions. Let’s hope those are improved on.

To begin with, we plan to add new booster packs by the end of the year. In addition, we are aiming to add a feature that allows certain cards to be traded starting in January 2025. We are planning to gradually expand the selection of cards that are able to be traded.
Also, we have other new features in development outside of the trade feature introduced here. We plan to announce more details about the update as the dates for the addition of these features are finalized, so please look forward to it.
