The Brotherhood Games, the developers behind the fantastic “Stasis” will be launching their new project “Beautiful Desolation” this month and it is looking great. The game is a 2D isometric adventure game set in the distant future where players explore a post-apocalyptic landscape inspired by the one and only South Africa. Beautiful Desolation has been in development for over three years now after launching a successful Kickstarter.

According to the official GoG page, the game features classic adventure gameplay with an 80s retro art style. Anyone familiar with the genre will feel right at home with it and I have to say, I am sort of in love with it right now. Beyond the setting and art style, the game features a unique cast of characters as players take on the role of Mark and search for their lost brother Don while coming into contact with all sorts of faces and creatures.
Beautiful Desolation has a large emphasis on puzzle-solving and decision-making dialogue as the player explores the world and alters his own future. Even the soundtrack for the game has been crafted with the utmost care by Mick Gordon who is known for his work on games like Wolfenstein, DOOM, Prey, Killer Instinct and Need for Speed.
The game is now available to wishlist on Steam and GOG.com. The Brotherhood Games has yet to reveal the official release date for Beautiful Desolation but according to game director Christopher Bischoff who lives in South Africa, it is set to launch at the end of February 2020.
