A recent lengthy report from Oops Leaks detailed apparent development hell going on with the next BioShock game, claiming that staff turnover was high due to inexperienced developers and contract workers as well as other points. Reputable Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has now refuted these claims, saying that Oops Leaks has been posting nonsense for years.
When it comes to leaks and rumours about the next BioShock game, Oops Leaks has seemingly always been at the forefront of them. Due to the abundance of information often posted by the leaker, most believed that their sources were legitimate.

Speaking on ResetEra, Schreier addressed the Oops Leaks account, calling it “nonsense”. He didn’t refute the claims that the next BioShock game was facing development struggles (simply due to the fact that it’s a BioShock game), but said that the account in question had been posting nonsense for years. Most people are inclined to take Schreier’s side on this matter since he does have a much greater track record in the industry.
Reddit users quickly pointed out that Oops Leaks didn’t have any history of legitimate leaks before frequently posting news on the next BioShock game and that most of their unrelated leaks were simply regurgitated from other sources.
On that note, this is a matter of “he said, she said” and we still know very little about what the next BioShock game will actually be or when it will release. If publisher Take-Two’s massive financial forecast for its next fiscal year (April 2024 – March 2025) is to be believed, then we might see the game finally release within that time frame with GTA 6, though that’s just speculation on our part.
In related news, Netflix is developing a live-action BioShock movie being helmed by I Am Legend and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence.
