PS4 System Update 7.00 Details Revealed

It’s been quite some time since we got a significant PS4 System Update with most of them being small updates that “improve system stability and performance”. The upcoming PS4 System Update 7.00 will finally make some great improvements to your PS4 including much bigger party sessions and more.

The news about the PS4 System Update 7.00 comes from the beta program where players are testing out the new build and features before it is officially released. As reported by PSU, those who signed up for the beta program are getting emails with the headline of the PS4 System Update 7.00 being bigger parties and better voice chat.

With the upcoming PS4 System Update 7.00 party session size will be doubled, from eight to sixteen players. Further, the performance of PS4 System Updates will also be improved and you won’t have to restart your PlayStation 4 after each small update.

As reported by WCCFTech, users have found another feature in the update that isn’t mentioned in the email and it is a pretty big deal. With the update, those with an HDR display will be able to tune the brightness and darkness on a system level, which is great since many games lack a proper HDR tuning feature. This feature reportedly also works for apps such as Netflix.

That last feature is pretty great if you ask me since I always forget to install an update after downloading it and wonder why I can’t connect to the PS Store. However, without a doubt the biggest improvement is the party session size which many players probably can’t wait for, especially those who play with a guild in a game like Destiny 2.

No official release date for the System Update has been revealed just yet but since the update is in the beta testing phase, we probably won’t have to wait too long.
