The new RPG from People Can Fly and Square Enix just received its first gameplay trailer. The new Outriders IP will be headed to both PS5, PS4 and Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles when it launches at the end of 2020 and the first gameplay trailer is quite revealing. Outriders put players on the planet of Enoch, a planet that humanity seeks to colonize after Earth becomes uninhabitable.

Things go south after the lead characters come into contact with an energy storm called “The Anomaly. This storm forces them to go into cryo-sleep for 30 years and rest while the crazy storm rages on above ground. Upon waking up, they find that the world has drastically changed and the people of the planet now bare a new impossible power granted to them by the storm. This includes the ability to shapeshift the very world around them and control the elements.
The Outriders trailer shows off some of these powers in action as massive fights break out between factions as they toss fire at each other and freeze enemies on the spot. Alien weapons, monsters and other threats are all present in the trailer too giving us a Mass Effect vibe as the player come face-to-face with deadly threats.
While there’s not much actual gameplay in the trailer, it is all taken from in-game footage and it looks pretty great. Some gorgeous scenery shots give us a glimpse at this next-gen title and the action looks fantastic too. Outriders is releasing in December for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC and is being developed by People Can Fly. Outriders has been in development since 2015. The studio is known for their work on games like Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgement and the Painkiller series.
