Now that Sony has officially released the upcoming PS5 specs and we know the Xbox Series X specs, we are now able to compare the two next-gen consoles against each other. Keep in mind, that while these specs are now confirmed, there is still a load of unconfirmed information in regards to the next generation of gaming.

Reports claim Microsoft is actually working on a cheaper Xbox Series X console version that may have less performance than the high-end console that we have seen up to this point. As the months go by, we will learn more about these console and how the performance will work towards delivering a new gaming experience.

Where Sony’s console underperforms in the CPU front, it makes up in terms of the IO Throughput which will deliver faster transfer speeds than the Xbox Series X specs. We still have a lot to learn about these two next-gen consoles. Pricing will be a major deciding factor for gamers when it comes to the next-gen console of choice. By the look of the specs, the PS5 will no doubt be cheaper than the Xbox Series X. It will also come down to games. Who will offer the best library of titles on launch day and will next-gen be littered with old games or will Microsoft and Sony have a solid first-party exclusive lineup ready for launch?
