Sony has delayed the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 into 2022. The game, which was originally set to release sometime this year, has been impacted by “COVID-related production challenges.” While we did not have a concrete date yet for the racer, Sony has previously advertised the game in trailer and marketing as a “2021 release window”. That has now changed. In a statement, Sony says that the ongoing pandemic has slowed the production of the upcoming racer.
“With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months,” the statement reads. “We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.”
The news arrived on the same day that Sony announced its next-gen VR hardware, Days Gone on PC and a new State of Play event set for tomorrow. Sony seems to be pumping up its news and updates after being silent since November.

However, the elephant in the room remains. When will more PS5 stock arrive and when will Sony start to address the lack of system updates and bug fixes on the console. The company has not said a word about the expandable storage solution nor have they announced any sort of VRR update or system improvements for the console.
Let’s hope that Sony is now back at work and users can expect to see some updates and news in the coming weeks regarding its new PS5 hardware.
