Players have been looking forward to the next instalment in the Ratchet and Clank series since the game’s announcement in September last year. Insomniac Games says that Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart is a brand-new full-length adventure.
When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated. As they try to re-unite, they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locales (but with new dimensional twists!), and wield a whole new arsenal of out of this world weapons.
The developer says that the upcoming adventure game is a standalone storyline so players don’t need to have caught up with the overall plot. However, if you are fans of the series, the game will have some nudges to previous entries.
Sony announced that Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart pre-orders are now live on the PlayStation Store. Players can pick up some fancy Carbonox Armour sets (from Going Commando) and a Pixelizer weapon(from the 2016 game) if they were to pre-order. In addition, there’s a Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart Deluxe Edition which comes with 5 armour sets, a digital soundtrack and artbook and more. Anyone who purchases the Deluxe Edition at any time will gain the pre-order items.
You can pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store now starting at R1,369 for the standard edition and R1,569 for the Deluxe Edition. Check them out here.
Here’s a new trailer for the game. 11 June 2021 cannot arrive soon enough.
