Original Story Follows

The PS5 price tag is not surprising. Last week we heard reports that the company was reworking it in order to match Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and S consoles. The current price tag matches the X which retails for $499 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is $100 cheaper the Xbox Series X. There’s also not a lot of time between both console launches so November is going to be a crazy month.

We are not completely sure where we land on the launch calendar and whether or not the console will launch in SA on 12 or 19 November 2020. PlayStation South Africa will most likely share a South African release date and price for the PS5 in the coming days. However, if you look at the Xbox Series X price at $499 which is R11,999 in SA, you can kind of get an estimate of what you are going to pay here. As soon as we learn more we will share it with you.

According to Sony, pre-orders open tomorrow at select retailers across the world. Again, we will share more with you once hear anything about the state of the PS5 in South Africa.
