Sony has seemingly confirmed the previously-leaked PS5 Pro design by including the console in the latest PlayStation 30th Anniversary artwork. Last week, the PS5 Pro design was leaked by Dealabs. The site shared a sketch drawing of the hardware which they took from a retail box. The console has a striking fin design on the sides which includes four vents.
In the PlayStation 30th Anniversary key art, the same PS5 console with the same four vents can be seen across the image. This console appears in all 30th Anniversary logos and wallpapers. To make it even more obvious, the standard PS5 console is also in the image but found in a different spot. So we can’t even confuse the PS5 Pro for the standard PS5.
This all but confirms the PS5 Pro design. Sony is expected to announce the console next week during a State of Play stream. The hardware is scheduled to launch sometime in November. At the moment we don’t have any confirmed specs for the console. However, reports claim it will still include the same wattage use and CPU.
Sony has worked on its own in-house upscaling tech for the console which uses AI to improve image quality across games. Reports also claim the console’s extra GPU power will enhance visuals, especially on games running on Unreal Engine 5. The console is expected to retail for $599.
