The PS5 Pro is expected to be announced next month and we now have an idea of what the console will look like. According to a sketch illustration from Dealabs who have seen the retail box for the console, the device will feature a taller design with a two-sided jagged exterior.
Dealabs claims to have obtained an actual image of the retail box. However, due to copyright issues, the site won’t publish the photo itself and instead, shared a sketch of it. You can see from the image below that the device features a similar design to the PS5 and PS5 Slim. However, the jagged sides are new.
At the moment we don’t know if these jagged edges are vents for cooling and part of the black console body. By the look of things, that might be the case. The top and bottom faceplates are then removable. It would make sense to include these vents on both sides and make use of the same removable faceplates found on the PS5 Slim. That way, you could simply pick up those plates instead of purchasing PS5 Pro-specific ones.
Dealabs says the PS5 Pro will also include 2 USB C ports on the front instead of a USB A and USB C found on the standard PS5. The console is also taller than the PS5 Slim and thicker. The sketch is also based on the digital edition console. The site doesn’t know if the PS5 Pro will come in a disc edition. Sony will likely sell both and the detachable disc drive sold separately.
While Dealabs has been pretty reliable with almost every single leak in the past, take this with a pinch of salt for now. As we approach the official reveal next month, expect more leaks to pop up.
