Sony has announced a new PS5 Showcase event set to take place on 16 September 2020. The event, which is most likely a week delayed due to the Xbox Series X price and release date news, will bring news about the upcoming console. Sony has not officially shared what the upcoming PlayStation 5 showcase will play host to. However, the company claims it will weigh in at around 40 minutes.

The PS5 showcase event kicks off at 22:00 South African Time this Wednesday evening. Expect a price, release date and launch lineup announcement during the event. In addition, Sony may reveal more first-party games coming to the PS5 in the coming months.
It has been what feels like the longest wait and we are finally going to know more about the upcoming next-gen console from Sony. Previous reports claim Sony had delayed the announcement from 9 September 2020 after Microsoft’s cheaper Series S console leaked. In addition, this forced the company to reveal the price and release date for its two Xbox consoles giving Sony time to adjust the PS5 price and release date.
