We know that Sony is planning to release its new PS5 Slim sometime in November but at the moment, the brand has yet to reveal an exact release date for the console. Thanks to a new leak, we sort of know when this will happen.
According to well-sourced and reliable leaker Billbil-kun, the release date for the PS5 Slim has reportedly been set for 8 November. The dataminer claims that Sony will release two versions of the PS5 Slim but the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle will launch on 8 November and the standard bundle on 10 November.

The two bundles will cost the same as the current PS5 console. The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle just includes the game and no fancy cover plates and DualSense Controller. It is identical to the other PS5 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle which is now on sale. Just with the PS5 Slim instead of the larger model.
By the look of things, Sony will launch the PS5 Slim Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle a few days earlier than the standalone console. The recommended retail prices for the standalone console are set at the following:
- PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – $499.99 / €549.99 / £479.99
- PS5 Digital Edition – $449.99 / €449.99 / £389.99
Keep in mind that we don’t have a local launch date for the PS5 Slim yet. We also don’t know how much the console will cost when it rolls out in South Africa. We will keep you updated on those launch plans when we hear more.
Sony has stated in the past that the PS5 Slim will launch in other regions in the months ahead. Given that South Africa still has stock of the current model, the company might hold off on the PS5 Slim launch until that sells out.
