For the first time, EA Games has chimed in about the upcoming next-gen console hardware saying it will “blow people’s minds”. During an investor call for EA’s FIscal 2020 Q3 (via IGN), EA’s leadership team was asked about their plans for the next generation of consoles namely the PS5, and Xbox Series X.
EA Games declined to comment and share any specific titles they company is currently working on but they did touch on the generational leap the hardware will bring with it. EA Games’ Blake Jorgensun said there’s going to be so much innovation not from just EA but from the whole industry. Not only will there be new sophisticated games but new genres will be born on the hardware too.
We don’t know what EA Games are working on for the PS5 and Xbox Series X but you can guess they will release the usual FIFA, Star Wars, Battlefield and other first-party games on the hardware this year. The publisher declined to say what games or experiences it is working on but their statement on the power of the consoles makes us even more excited for the next generation of gaming.
