QuakeCon 2019 – What You Need to Know Including South African Times, Deals and More

QuakeCon 2019 kicks opens its doors today in Dallas, Texas and it is a very exciting time, as we will see new DOOM Eternal details and footage from the event. Although not many (if any) South Africans will probably attend the convention by Bethesda and id Software live, we won’t be left out in the cold as we will be able to watch all the action live.

Here’s everything you need to know about QuakeCon 2019, including where to watch, when streams will take place in SA time and what to expect. Before we get to those details, however, there are also some great QuakeCon 2019 deals on Bethesda titles for our local readers to take advantage of, so lets kick things off with the deals.

QuakeCon 2019 Deals

PC gamers can take advantage of a tonne of great QuakeCon 2019 deals from multiple online stores, from the Steam QuakeCon 2019 sale to Green Man Gaming and GOG.com. Some of the best deals come from Steam as it uses our local currency, but there is also a fantastic deal on Green Man Gaming on RAGE 2 for only $28.50, which is R395. For the most part, however, things are a bit cheaper on Steam for our local readers.

While the doors to the convention open today on 25 July, the streams will only start tomorrow, 26 July 2019, including panels, announcements, esports and more. 26 July – Legends Masters Series at 10:00 am CT (17:00 SA Time) – Watch the stream here

Runs all day. The Masters Series is the highest level of competition in The Elder Scrolls: Legends and we’re incredibly excited to bring it back to QuakeCon 2019! Eight of the best Legends players in the world will convene to battle for their share of a $50,000 prize pool.

26 July – Keynote Presentation at 11:00 am CT (18:00 SA Time) – Watch the stream here

Immediately following the Keynote Presentation will be 25 Years of DOOM’s Influence on Video Games – An all-star panel of Bethesda developers looks back at how DOOM’s launch 25 years ago impacted the video game industry and the games that followed. Featuring leads from id Software, MachineGames, Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks, this roundtable discussion will cover games old and new, and trends in shooters and beyond.

Join team leads from Bethesda Game Studios as they discuss upcoming updates for Fallout 76’s Adventure Mode and Nuclear Winter. Join ESO Game Director Matt Firor and Creative Director Rich Lambert – and members of the #ESOFam in the audience and online – for a discussion about the evolution of ESO through the years. 28 July – Quake Pro League at 8:00 am CT (15:00 SA Time) – Watch the stream here

The Quake Pro League season begins with a round robin on Thursday, July 25 which for the first time ever, you can watch every match from any Pro player’s point of view on QuakeCon.tv! On Sunday, June 28 the official Championship stream will start at 8am. Tune in to see which of our top 20 Quake players from around the world will emerge victorious as the QuakeCon: Year of DOOM World Champion.
