Quantic Dream, the studio behind the hit titles including Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain, have been working on a Star Wars game for almost two years now according to reports.
Back in 2018, the studio ended its three-game deal with Sony that saw Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human and Beyond: Two Souls release on PS3 and PS4 thanks to a publishing partnership with the company. However, soon after that deal ended, David Cage began exploring new opportunities to bring the studios’ iconic game design to new franchises. That new franchise is Star Wars.

While Quantic Dream has yet to confirm the existence of this new Star Wars game, over the past few days rumours of the game’s development began swirling around online. Last week a French YouTuber and ex-journalist Gautoz claimed that Quantic Dream signed a contract with Disney straight after they ended their publishing deal with Sony. This deal would see them develop a unique story-driven, choice-based Star Wars game.
After the YouTuber shared the report, other well-sourced industry insiders backed it up. One of which is Tom Henderson, who is known for his Call of Duty, Battlefield and other leaks. Henderson confirmed that Quantic Dream has been working on this Star Wars game for over 18 months now.
To make the evidence even more believable, Quantic Dream then went to like one of the articles on Twitter that reported on this Star Wars game news. They have now all but confirmed the game’s existence.

Keep in mind that we probably won’t see this new Star Wars game for quite a while. 18 months isn’t a very long time and by the sound of things, Quantic Dream are building this game from the ground up to feature an original story and cast of characters. These projects don’t happen overnight. Still, it is nice to know we have a new game coming our way sometime in the future.
