Rainbow Six Extraction PC System Requirements

Rainbow Six Extraction Release Date, Price Drop and Buddy Pass Announced

After suffering multiple delays this year, Ubisoft has officially announced a new release date for the upcoming squad-based spin-off Rainbow Six Extraction. According to Ubisoft, the game is set to release on 20 January 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

In addition to the new date, which marks an entire year since the game’s original delayed release date, Ubisoft says Rainbow Six Extraction will also release at a cheaper price tag and offer a range of cool perks that enable players to invite friends into the fight without buying the game.

Ubisoft says that Rainbow Six Extraction won’t cost the full $59,99. Instead, the game is launching at $39,99 (local pricing TBC). One copy of Rainbow Six Extraction can be shared with two friends so players can invite other Ubisoft Connect friends to download the game and piggyback off that one purchase.

The buddy pass system also works across all platforms so users aren’t restricted to sharing their copy of Rainbow Six Extraction with friends on the same console family. However, there are some restrictions to this system. The two friends only have access to the game for 14 days. After which, they can’t access the game without paying $39.99.

Ubisoft has also announced that Rainbow Six Extraction will receive free post-launch content for all players. This will include maps, characters and modes. Of course, you can probably expect the game to pack a pretty hefty number of microtransactions due to this. Given how Rainbow Six Siege is milked with skins and other items, Extraction will probably be the same.
