A PC port for Insomniac Games’ critically acclaimed adventure title Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart might be next, according to recent job listings by Nixxes. Sony’s Nixxes Software has been responsible for several of PlayStation’s PC ports in the past, notably Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. A new job listing by the studio could suggest that Insomniac’s beloved PS5 game is also heading to Steam.
The recent job post by Nixxes is seeking an engineer with “experience in using Coherent middleware.” This is referring to Coherent Labs, a development tool which is described as “the only professional game UI middleware in the world.” Coherent Labs mentions on its official website a number of games that uses the middleware including Control: Ultimate Edition, Minecraft, PUBG and above all, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

This could indicate that Nixxes Software is currently working on a PC port for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, though we still recommend taking it with a pinch of salt until we have confirmation from Insomniac Games and PlayStation.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart originally launched exclusively on PS5 back in 2021 to largely positive reviews with many outlets praising its inventive dimension-hopping gameplay and writing. It went on to be nominated for several awards at The Game Awards 2021, including Best Art Direction, Best Action/Adventure, Best Audio Design, Best Game Direction and Game of the Year.
The official description of the game provided by PlayStation reads:
“Go dimension-hopping with Ratchet and Clank as they take on an evil emperor from another reality. Jump between action-packed worlds, and beyond at mind-blowing speeds – complete with dazzling visuals and an insane arsenal – as the intergalactic adventurers blast onto the PS5 console.”
It’s rumoured that PlayStation is working on other PC ports for its exclusives including Ghost of Tsushima.
