The RDR2 Companion App is the only tool any e-cowboy needs. It can help you hide from the Law, hunt your enemies, and find a gun store, to name but a few of its functions.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches this Friday, and the Companion App launches alongside it for iOS and Android devices. It connects directly with your PS4 or Xbox One while you’re playing to deliver real-time information to your smartphone. It also includes the complete game manual plus an optional digital version of the official Red Dead Redemption 2 guide.
Hide from the law, hunt your enemies, find the nearest General Store and other key locations with the interactive Map feature in the Red Dead Redemption 2 Official Companion App.
Information stored on the RDR2 Companion App includes the protagonist, Arthur Morgan’s key stats and his in-game journal. The journal provides info on things like important discoveries (with illustrations), waypoints and points of interest.
To set a waypoint or POI, you simply tap on the screen. You can also pan and zoom the map. RDR2’s new cinematic camera mode and first-person view will make for gorgeous screenshots, and you can use the Companion App to replace the in-game HUD, making for even better screens. Lastly, the RDR2 Companion App also provides stat tracking through the Social Club.
We know that the main story will take you around 60 hours to complete, not to mention the additional side quests and activities like hunting and fishing. You might end up spending 100+ hours in the Wild West and having the aid of the Companion App suddenly becomes a necessity.
The only thing we still need is official confirmation that Rockstar is releasing the Red Dead 2 PC version in 2019.
