Recall of Gizzu GPS300/GPS500 Power Stations in SA Due to Fire Risk

Gizzu distributor, Syntech has issued a recall for two specific Portable Power Stations which may run the risk of overheating while charging and pose a fire hazard as a result. The two devices include the GPS300 and GPS500 Portable Power Stations. The official product descriptions are:

  • GPS300 – Gizzu 296Wh Portable Power Station
  • GPS500 – Gizzu 518Wh Portable Power Station

As a result of the recall, Syntech has launched a web page to help customers check whether or not their specific model is affected by the overheating issue. If you are in possession of one of the affected power stations, you’ll be able to return it for repair, replacement or a refund.

All you need to do is check the serial number on your Gizzu power station. The serial number can be found under the “Made in China” label on the back side of the unit. It starts with a “GPS”.

Enter the complete number into the form on the recall website here and it will tell you whether or not your unit poses a potential fire risk. If that’s the case, the form will then let you capture your details in order to arrange the replacement, repair or refund.

Syntech also urges customers to reach out for any assistance regarding the recall. You can contact the help centre on 011 053 1901 (Mon-Fri, 8:30 am – 5 pm) or email them at [email protected].
