Last night, Rockstar released the final Red Dead Redemption 2 install sizes as well as the official launch trailer. The game releases in seven days, which gives you enough time to clear some hard drive space. That’s unless you own a digital pre-order of Red Dead Redemption 2 as pre-loading unlocked last night for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

There has been some confusion about the Red Dead Redemption 2 install sizes. At first, a leak suggested it would be over 100GB, but then the Microsoft Store listed the Xbox One version’s as under 90GB.

Now, Rockstar listed the final Red Dead Redemption 2 install sizes, and it differs slightly depending on your platform and installation method.

  • Disc Installation PS4: 99 GB installation space
  • Disc Installation Xbox One: 107 GB installation space
  • Digital Installation PS4: 99 GB with an additional 50GB for the installation process
  • Digital Installation Xbox One: 107 GB

You might be wondering about that extra 50GB needed for the PS4 digital install. It is only required to install Red Dead Redemption 2 and will free up after.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 launch trailer shows us something new about the van der Linde gang and the protagonist, Arthur Morgan’s place in it. There seems to be some conflict between the gang leader, Dutch, and Morgan, and it spills over to the rest of the 23-member strong gang. We know that the game begins with a robbery gone wrong in the industrialized settlement of Blackwater which forces the gang to flee.

From the trailer, we can gather that Morgan and Dutch were not in agreement about the robbery. Dutch is insisting on one last big score after which the gang will have enough money to leave.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The multiplayer component, Red Dead Online, kicks off in November with a beta for everyone who owns the base game.
