Redfall Release Date May 2023 Arkane Studios

Redfall Reportedly Aiming for May 2023 Release Date

Redfall, the upcoming vampire-slaying open-world game from Dishonored developer Arkane Studios, is reportedly set to launch in May 2023. According to a new report, the title is targeting a release date for the first week of May, though plans might change if all doesn’t go according to plan. Redfall was originally planned to launch in 2022 but was delayed by Bethesda alongside Starfield to sometime this year.

Redfall‘s story follows a group of misfits who must liberate the quaint titular town from the clutches of invading vampires that have taken control of the area. It will allow players to tackle the campaign either solo or with friends in co-op (up to four players), though it’s looking like a traditional Arkane game in all other aspects including its unique art style and gameplay.

A new report from Windows Central states that Redfall is targeting a release in the first week of May this year if development goes according to plan. Bethesda also reiterated that it plans to launch Starfield sometime in the next six months as well. Both titles will be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Microsoft had a relatively quiet 2022 as it wrestled with the ongoing Activision Blizzard deal that was contested by Sony on multiple occasions, specifically surrounding the exclusivity of the Call of Duty franchise. Outside of smaller releases like Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment and Squanch Games’ High on Life, Xbox saw no major AAA releases last year. That might change this year as games like Starfield, Redfall and Forza Motorsport are expected to release in 2023.

Xbox has other first-party exclusives in the pipeline including Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga from Ninja Theory, Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 from Obsidian Entertainment, and a Fable reboot from Forza Horizon developer Playground Games. Microsoft has yet to provide any major updates on the development of these titles but rumours indicate that the company is planning to host a showcase sometime soon that will provide more insight into the future of Xbox.

Redfall is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
