Remedy’s Control is Getting a Multiplayer Spin-Off “Condor”

Remedy has announced a new partnership with 505 Games to publish its next project, a multiplayer spin-off set in the Control universe called Condor. Remedy is still going to develop and produce the game. However, the 505 Games partnership will see the publisher handle the game’s marketing, shipping and other distribution factors.

While very little is know about this Control multiplayer Condor spin-off at this time, Remedy says that the world of Control is a lot deeper and more layered than people think. The developers are approaching the new project with ambitious new ideas to expand the story and setting of Control through multiplayer.

By the sound of things, the Control multiplayer spin-off is also going to be a co-op game. The subtle hints from the dev team talk about fans jumping into the game together to experience an engaging world. The first concept art (seen above) also shows off four players sitting waiting for their turn.

We get that there is going to be skepticism about multiplayer. But I believe we can create shared experiences without compromising the unique DNA of who we are, or the stories we want to tell. Yes, we need to re-think our angles, our techniques, our mindset, but we see it as an exciting challenge: What would a Remedy multiplayer game look like?

The Vanguard team has done awesome progress on that front already, and the possibilities there are extremely exciting. Both games will be different examples of how you can collectively experience our worlds.

If this Control multiplayer Condor project doesn’t sound like your thing then never fear. Remedy also officially confirmed that the studio is working on a brand-new sequel to Control. There are virtually no public details at this point. However, the studio says they are working on a bigger-budget Control game.
