FBC Firebreak Remedy Entertainment Multiplayer Release Date

Remedy’s Multiplayer Control Spin-Off FBC: Firebreak Gets June Release Date

Remedy Entertainment has announced a June release date for its multiplayer Control spin-off titled FBC: Firebreak. The three player co-op shooter is set in the same universe as Control as players take on missions inside the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, which has become overrun by supernatural forces. Fans can get their hands on the new Remedy title this June for consoles and PC.

As reported by The Verge, FBC: Firebreak will be available on 17 June 2025 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. To sweeten the deal, the shooter will also be made available on subscription services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus at launch, giving players even more reasons to try out Remedy’s take on a multiplayer game. “The game features highly replayable missions known as Jobs, each uniquely designed with different challenges, objectives, and environments that require teamwork and adaptability,” explained Remedy.

If you don’t have a subscription to the above platforms, the game will be sold for $39,99, which is on par with the pricing of most live-service games these days like Helldivers 2 and Concord (let’s hope it doesn’t meet the same grisly fate as the latter).

Addressing the live-service nature of FBC: Firebreak, Remedy stated that “all future playable content, including new Jobs, will be free. Players will have the option to purchase cosmetics, but none of these items will affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins.”

As for the Control franchise, Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that it’s currently hard at work on Control 2. The company stated back in November 2024 that the upcoming sequel would feature more RPG elements than the first game. Beyond that, little else is known about the plot or characters of the sequel. After the extremely positive reception of Alan Wake 2 – which went on to be nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2023 – Remedy has quite a reputation to live up to with the gaming community.
