Resident Evil 1 Remake Resident Evil 9 Details Leaked

Resident Evil 1 Remake in The Works, Resident Evil 9 Details Leaked – Report

A remake of Resident Evil 1, the PS1 survival horror classic, is reportedly in development at Capcom. This shouldn’t be confused with the 2002 GameCube remake of Resident Evil 1, which is technically a graphical facelift though it keeps most of the top-down gameplay in tact. The new remake will likely overhaul the gameplay perspective much like the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes did. Additionally, new details about Resident Evil 9 have also been leaked.

The report comes from DanielRPK, a leaker better known for their movies and television leaks. According to the leaker, Capcom is working on a Resident Evil 1 remake set to release in 2026 – just in time for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. As mentioned before, it will likely use the over-the-shoulder gameplay perspective adopted by the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes along with updated visuals and more.

Twitter/X user PRE_Alarabiya claims to have heard from sources close with Resident Evil projects at Capcom not only about the remake but Resident Evil 9 as well. We couldn’t verify any of this information so take everything mentioned here with a pinch of salt. In the odd event that these details turn out to be true and you don’t wish to be spoiled, don’t read on.

According to their sources, Leon S. Kennedy will be a playable character in the game’s introduction, taking place in Southeast Asia. The region and playable characters may change with the passage of time and events. The events of the story will take place in summer 2025, which means that Leon’s age will be 48 years old at that time. It’s unclear if we’ll be playing as Leon throughout the entire game or if we’ll get a chance to switch to other characters.

If a previous report from Dusk Golem is accurate, then Resident Evil 9 will be announced this summer with a release date set for January 2025. As with all reports and rumours, take everything here with a pinch of salt until Capcom makes official announcements.
