Capcom has announced that all three major Resident Evil games released on the PS4 and Xbox One are set to get PS5 and Xbox Series X/S enhancements later this year. This includes Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake as well as Resident Evil 7.
Sadly, Capcom has no plans to add any content to the games at this point. While Resident Evil 2 and 7 are complete experiences, Resident Evil 3 still doesn’t accurately represent the original game due to its missing content.

Capcom says that three games will offer free upgrades to owners who already have them. This is of course limited to what console you now own and whether or not you have the disc or digital versions.
The games will also get DualSense support on PS5 along with 3D audio enhancements. Capcom says they are implementing ray tracing, high frame rates and visual enhancements into all three games too. The visual upgrades are also coming to PC at the same time through a free game update.
“Developed using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, all three titles will tout cutting-edge features including ray tracing, high frame rate, and 3D audio to enhance the immersion of the award-winning experiences. For PlayStation 5 players, all three titles also feature engaging DualSense support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers.”
Capcom has yet to announce the official release date for Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake and Resident Evil 7. However, we can only hope these games arrive soon. I am sure I am not the only one who would love to go back and play 7 again?
