The remake of Resident Evil 2 is one of my most anticipated games on 2019 and from everything we’ve seen so far, it looks horrifyingly brilliant. The game is set to release on 25 January but before that, Capcom wants to give players a shot to test out a small portion of the game for free. In November last year, rumours started floating around that the demo would drop in December, but it seems Capcom needed a bit more time. Now, Capcom announced via a Press Release that the Resident Evil 2 1-shot demo will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 11 January 2019.

Players will only have 30 minutes as rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy but if they die or complete the demo within those 30 minutes, they can restart and use up the remainder of the 30 minutes on a new playthrough. The Resident Evil 2 1-shot demo will be available until 31 January, six days after the game officially releases.
Sure, 30 minutes isn’t a lot and I, for one, wish that it would have been a small demo without a time limit. Even so, it does put some more urgency into the whole thing, especially since there is a reward for completing the demo. According to Capcom, the end of the demo reveals a brand new cinematic trailer. This is exclusive to demo participants, so it should be well worth checking out. Even though the demo can only be played for 30 minutes, the trailer can be viewed over and over again.
Capcom explains the limitations of the Resident Evil 2 1-shot demo:
Aptly named the “1-Shot Demo,” players must take on the challenge of surviving the horrors of Raccoon City in just 30 minutes. If players complete the mission objective under 30 minutes, they can restart the mission until they use up their full time. If players succumb to the zombies during their 30 minutes, they can continue any number of times until the full 30 minutes have been reached.
I will be giving the demo a shot this Friday and share my thoughts with you as this is one of the games that I think horror fans shouldn’t miss out on.
