After the somewhat “okay-ish” release of Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom is going ahead with remaking one of the best entries in the series to date. According to a new report, Resident Evil 4 Remake development is in full swing between the RE2 and Devil May Cry V team. It is understood that the game is being directed by the original director Shinji Makami and has been in development since 2018. Resident Evil 4 Remake is set for a 2021 release date.

Many of the original Resident Evil 4 developers will be working on the remake as they are still part of the Capcom team including Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Mega Man 11), Kouji Kakae (Devil May Cry 5), and Kiyohiko Sakata – who was the game director for the Resident Evil 3 remake at Red Works.
As for the game itself, it will no doubt benefit from a remake treatment. The recent Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake proved that Capcom is more than capable of recreating a classic horror experience with a fresh coat of paint. However, a Resident Evil 4 Remake may be more challenging than the past two games as the setting, characters, action and enemies are a ways off from the past two games.
Resident Evil 4 released back in January 2005 and follows the story of U.S Government special agent Leon S Kennedy who is sent on a mission to rescue the president’s daughter Ashley Graham who has been kidnapped by a cult. The game takes place in a rural part of Europe as Leon enters a village where the people have been infected by a mind-controlling parasite.
