Resident Evil 4 Remake Gets New Trailer – Demo Coming Soon

A new trailer for the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4 debuted at the recent PlayStation State of Play event last night, showing off brand new footage including gameplay, cutscenes and new locations that weren’t shown before in previous trailers. Additionally, a “special demo” will also be coming soon. The highly anticipated survival horror game launches next month and it looks like Capcom is working hard to make it another exceptional Resident Evil remake project.

Along with the new trailer for the Resident Evil 4 remake, Capcom also confirmed that players will receive a demo of the game soon but didn’t give any exact date. It’s unclear if this demo will be limited to PS4 and PS5 consoles or if it will appear on other platforms, though given the history of Resident Evil demos, it’s likely to be exclusive to PlayStation for now.

The game’s Mercenaries Mode was also given some attention in the new trailer. Capcom confirmed that it won’t be part of the game’s release but it will arrive as free post-launch DLC at a later date. On the subject of the demo, Capcom wrote on a blog:

“Finally, we announced an upcoming demo for Resident Evil 4. This demo will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in the near future. Get ready to take on the demo, as ‘survival is just the beginning’.”

The Resident Evil 4 remake features vastly updated visuals, gameplay mechanics and new content. Fans of the original game will recognise some key locations in the latest trailer as well which have all been lovingly recreated on Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine. Quick-time events will also be removed which is a blessing depending on if you’re a fan of them or not.

Resident Evil 4 launches on 24 March 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the latest gameplay trailer below.
