Resident Evil 8: Village Reportedly Releasing in Early 2021

The Resident Evil 8 leaks keep coming in hot and the latest one seems to claims that the game will be called “Village”. According to the report which comes from Biohazardcast, the game’s title “Resident Evil 8 (VIII)” will be worked into a sub-title “Village” and release before the end of March 2021.

The information goes on to reveal that the game will star Ethan from Resident Evil 7 as well as Chris Redfield. A well-known character from the Capcom series.  According to the report, Capcom is currently working on the game’s inventory system which they say will be a mix between Resident Evil 4 and 7.

Previous rumours hinted at a “Witch” – an enemy that will constantly haunt Ethan throughout the game. Apparently, this said witch will haunt Ethan the same way Marguerite haunted him in the past game. Dealing enough damage to her will then cause her to dissipate into insects.

The game’s village setting will also play host to new mechanics including hallucinations which will make it hard for the player to determine what is real and what isn’t. We also know that Resident Evil 8 Village or VIII  will also be first-person as Capcom plans to adapt the same gameplay approach from RE7 into the game.

For now, take this all with a pinch of salt as we are still a while away from seeing the game in action. If Capcom plans to release the game in March next year, it could also be a PS5 and Xbox Series X game which makes it all even more exciting.
