Resident Evil Death Island Teaser Trailer CG Animated Movie Capcom

Resident Evil: Death Island CG Animated Movie Announced

A new CG animated Resident Evil movie is on its way this summer. Capcom has released the first teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Death Island, which unites three of the most popular franchise characters: Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine.

The brief 30-second teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Death Island shows Chris, Leon and a short shot of Jill at the end. It’s worth noting that the design for Jill is the same one used in the Resident Evil 3 remake. In previous Resident Evil animations, Jill’s character design was based on past games. This is the first time that a CG Resident Evil movie is using this particular model, which is good news for fans who prefer the new design over the last one.

The official description for Resident Evil: Death Island provided under the trailer reads:

“D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them. Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi (Assassination Classroom) from a screenplay by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass).”

Sony is distributing the movie, so it’s unclear if this will be a streaming service launch like the previous CG animated movie for Netflix or if it will actually come to cinemas. We’re betting on the latter given Sony’s push to get more of its movies back in theatres since the global pandemic.

Resident Evil: Death Island is set to release sometime this summer. Check out the teaser trailer below.
