During the Capcom Showcase in the (very) early hours of this morning, the developer played host to a number of announcements from across various franchises. However, Resident Evil had a special focus given the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake and multiplayer Re Verse. Those of you looking to jump pack into Resident Evil Village can do so on 28 October in the new Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose DLC.
According to Capcom, Shadows of Rose takes place 16 years after the events of the main game. Players take on the role of Ethan Winters’ daughter Rose as she returns back to the village to seek answers regarding her father’s death.

Capcom says Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose is played from a third-person perspective compared to the main game’s content which is first-person. The DLC was originally teased after the main game in a special post-credits scene where players first met Rose. We also learnt that Ethan might actually be alive so this DLC will play into both of those factors.
By the look of things, Rose is a ‘special’ child too. The trailer reveals she has something in her body that “moves” around which confirms she might also be powerful and have the ability to heal (even if her hand gets chopped off). The trailer reveals that Rose might meet a character that looks like her in the village and fight creatures spawned by Duke the Merchant.
Little else is known about the Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose DLC at the moment other than what we see from the trailer. The content is set to launch on 28 October.
In addition to the launch of Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose, the game is also getting new Mercenaries content. Capcom is adding Chris Redfield, Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg as playable characters in the mode. Capcom is also adding a third-person mode into the main game as Ethan Winters. So gamers can play the entire campaign in third-person.
All of this will launch on 28 October alongside a new Resident Village: Gold Edition. Check out the trailer for the content below.
