Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City Trailer

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Gets First Thrilling Trailer

The first trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City has been released by Sony Pictures, and features plenty of familiar scenes, locations and enemies from the games. Based on the first two legendary Resident Evil games, this film adaptation will take us to Raccoon City on the verge of the T-virus outbreak by Umbrella.

Resident Evil; Welcome to Raccoon City is Hollywood’s second attempt at adapting Capcom’s Resident Evil games to the big screen. While the former film series, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, took its own unique approach to the franchise, Welcome to Raccoon City seems to be more faithfully adapting the events and characters of the first two games.

Since we’re following two stories across two games in one film, it’s likely that both events will be happening simultaneously. The first storyline will likely follow members of S.T.A.R.S., led by Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, as they infiltrate the creepy Spencer mansion, only to find the beginnings of a zombie outbreak. The second story will take place in the heart of Raccoon City and follow rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and Chris’ sister, Claire, as they try to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and the various links to Umbrella. The trailer offers a look at some of the game’s more iconic enemies, events and locations, including Lickers in the RPD and some familiar BOWs.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will be directed by 47 Meters Down‘s Johannes Roberts and star Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Neal McDonough as William Birkin, Lily Gao as Ada Wong, and Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker. It will release exclusively in cinemas on 24 November 2021.
