Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the Titanfall series, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Apex Legends, is still secretly working on a new AAA first-person shooter, but it’s not Titanfall 3. Unfortunately, the project is only expected to release in 2024 or 2025 since it’s still in the early prototyping stages of development.
According to VentureBeat, Respawn’s secret AAA first-person shooter is still in active development despite its creative director, Mohammad Alavi, leaving the studio recently. However, EA only expects the game to release in the next few years, suggesting that Respawn are already working on other projects.

More specifically, a recent rumour pointed to Respawn working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. The secret shooter is unfortunately not tied to the Titanfall universe, but it’s “striving for ‘mobility’ and ‘style’ as guiding principles”, which could easily be confused for a new Titanfall game. That said, the project is likely to be a new IP.
Alavi had been employed at Respawn Entertainment for 11 years, working in senior roles on the Titanfall series as well as Apex Legends. He eventually took a leading role as a creative director on the secretive new shooter, but recently announced his departure from the studio to work on his “next venture”, wherever that may be.
Respawn continues to maintain Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale shooter, with constant updates that add new characters, fixes and more to the experience. They’ve also branched off to work on other projects, including Respawn’s co-founder Vince Zampella recently being given reigns to the Battlefield franchise. Hopefully his leadership brings the beloved series back on track following the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042, which continues to face an uphill battle in the public eye.
