Revenge of The Savage Planet is releasing in May. The sequel to the 2020 first-person shooter adventure game, Journey to The Savage Planet, aims to deliver the same frantic space exploration with the same co-op gameplay, but this time in third person.
The game will launch on 8 May this year for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It is also launching on Game Pass, so you’ll be able to play it on the service if you have an active Game Pass subscription.
The game was announced back in August 2024 during the Gamescom Opening Night Live. However, Raccoon Logic shared an update last night during the ID@Xbox showcase, revealing new gameplay and mechanics.
The trailer starts with Martin Tweed, who you’d know from the first game, sharing his usual marketing skit. Tweed goes through the various gear players can use in Revenge of The Savage Planet by ordering it using their Kindred Catalog. The gear includes all sorts of ways to get around the world, including the lasso whip, a goo gun, and flamethrower.
“Revenge of the Savage Planet is an upbeat, satirical action adventure sci-fi,” according to an official product description. “Jump, shoot and collect your way across vibrant alien worlds, uncovering new gear and upgrades, while discovering various hidden secrets.”
As a big fan of Journey to The Savage Planet, I am looking forward to the sequel. The third-person camera will definitely add to the exploration and parkour. Of course, the co-op in the game is top-notch. It also supports split-screen co-op, something you don’t see very often.
