Rick and Morty Season 6 Release Date Confirmed September Adult Swim Netflix

Rick and Morty Season 6 Confirmed for September

Rick and Morty is returning with its anticipated season 6, confirmed with a release date of 4 September. The sixth season of the Emmy-award winning animated comedy with debut on Adult Swim. However, there’s no word yet on if it will be coming to Netflix around the same time but it seems very likely.

Adult Swim ordered 70 episodes of Rick and Morty back in 2018, meaning we’ll be seeing more of the animated series well after season 6. It ended up becoming a modern classic in the television world, consistently being the top-rated comedy every year since its fourth season aired.

The official description for season 6 of Rick and Morty reads:

“It’s season six and Rick and Morty are back! Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of piss! Who knows?! Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss! Another can’t miss season of your favorite show.”

The president of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, Michael Ouweleen, enthusiastically chipped in, stating “It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon. As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun–so keep your eyes peeled.”

Rick and Morty‘s official Twitter account announced the news via an image shared on social media, showing both Rick and Morty flexing their six-pack of abs (referencing season six of the show). Season 5 originally aired last year from June to September.

Rick and Morty season 6 is set to air on 4 September via Adult Swim, with a Netflix announcement presumably arriving soon.
