Riot Games announced back in 2019 a new team-based shooter that they claim will take on the likes of CS: GO. At the time, it was simply called “Project A” but the League of Legends developer has officially named the game “Valorant” and it is arriving soon.

Valorant will be a free-to-play game where two teams of five players will fight each other to the death. While it sounds like every other shooter on the market, Valorant will see one team defend and the other attack as players choose from a diverse cast of hypernatural, battle-ready agents to control in the game.

These hypernatural beings will add a new layer of tactic to the traditional team-based combat seen in games like CS: GO. Each agent is unique and boasts a range of abilities. Pheonix ignites the battlefield with fire and can throw fireballs while Viper coats the battlefield in toxins that can crippler her opponents.
