It is always awesome to see a South African tournament pop up, especially if it is for a new, very popular game. I am, of course, talking about Apex Legends, the battle royale title from Respawn that has taken the world by storm. South African gamers seem to love Apex Legends and rightly so, which is why I am extremely excited to report on a local Apex Legends tournament taking place at the end of this month, featuring over R100,000 in prizes. It is called Nexus Legends by Seagate, hosted by Nexus in participation with Gigabyte, LG, AMD Ryzen, ASUS and Norton.

Nexus Legends by Seagate will take place on 30 March 2019 and it is open to all South Africans on PS4 and PC over at the Nexus Hub. It is the Apex Legends event for newbies, dedicated Apex Legends players and the fans, with Grant Hinds as the event Host, and also featuring local streamer SamPlayze.

So let’s get straight into the most important details. The cut-off time for registering your team (of 3) is 28 March 2019. Entry is R150 per team (so R50 per person) and there is limited space available. The tournament takes place in Randburg and you can check out the full address below, so make those arrangements if you don’t live in Gauteng and plan on making a trip.
This isn’t some long, drawn-out event either. Nexus Legends by Seagate only runs on 30 March, which is a Saturday. It is an “insane 5-hour play session” but don’t worry, there will be a lunch break in between, as well as a prize and photo session.
