Samsung has unveiled its new lineup of gaming monitors ahead of CES 2024. The company pulled the trigger just days before the tech expo kicks off and the lineup includes a new Odyssey OLED G6, G8 and G9.
Each new Samsung Odyssey gaming monitor comes with different specs and sizes. First off, there’s the Odyssey OLED G6, the entry-level monitor. However, don’t let “entry-level” fool you because this monitor is far from basic. It packs a 27-inch OLED panel with a 1440p resolution and 360Hz refresh rate. This monitor doesn’t feature a curved display.

Next up is the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 – a 32-inch 4K monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. Like the G6, this monitor doesn’t feature a curved display either. This model is likely the middle-ground for those looking for 4K but don’t want to rob a bank to afford the next model – the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is the top-of-the-range unit. It includes a 49-inch curved OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. The panel aspect ratio is 32:9 with a resolution of 5120 x 1440.
Both the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 and G8 come with a range of smart features. This includes Samsung’s Smart TV platform and access to video streaming services and the Gaming Hub. They also come packed with cloud gaming services in territories that support the feature. All three models, on the other hand, are all VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified with a peak brightness of at least 400 nits. They all support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and come with two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4
Samsung hasn’t revealed the pricing for these monitors just yet. However, you can expect them to cost a small penny. There are also no release dates as of yet. We will likely see them hit stores much later this year. There’s no local confirmation on whether or not these monitors will launch in South Africa.
