After the Samsung Galaxy Fold delay was announced last week, and the company pulling it out of their event this week, things are little shady about the Samsung Galaxy Fold South African price and release date.
Samsung announced that they will be hosting a Galaxy Fold event in South Africa in the second half of May when the commercial availability will be announced for the device.
The smartphone has been tarnished by media around the world after breakage issues were reported within days of reviewers using the phone. Broken screens and objects getting caught under the display were causing major havoc for the hardware resulting in damaged devices.

A number of reviewers even tried to peel off the protective layer which started rising after use without knowing that this was not meant to be removed at all. It then resulted in a completely broken display. After the issues persisted, Samsung decided to delay the launch for further internal investigations.
Speaking to MyBroadband during the launch of the Samsung 8K QLED TV range, Samsung South Africa CEO Sung Yoon said that the Galaxy Fold is still on track for launch in SA. It will be available in very-low quantities mainly due to its price tag of R45,000. Yoon told MyBroadband that the device will be priced around that figure when it eventually releases in the country.
