Samsung has kicked the year off early and announced its brand-new range of Galaxy S21 smartphones including the S21, S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Each device packs some pretty epic features all combined into a brand-new design and camera system that wraps around the sides of the smartphones. All the new Samsung Galaxy devices boast 5G support, AMOLED displays and the Galaxy S21 Ultra boasts Wi-Fi 6E which the company claims is two-times faster than Wi-Fi 6.
The South African versions of these three smartphones pack the Samsung Exynos 2100 which the company claims are more powerful than the previous SoC. In addition, this year’s Samsung Galaxy S21 range will not include power adaptors and headphones in the box.
Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra Camera System
Samsung has now redesigned the Galaxy S21 smartphone when it comes to the overall design. First off, the 21 and 21+ include flat displays and Ultra includes a curved display. All the camera systems are now moulded into the shell of the device and wrap around the sides.
Samsung has now added S Pen support to the Galaxy S21 Ultra but users need to purchase it separately. The Ultra also includes a quad-lens camera system which includes an ultra-wide, wide lens, and two optical lenses for dual zoom support.
The camera system across the board boasts some impressive improvements. The S21 and S21+ include a triple-lens camera system which supports 8K video recording. However, the big jump in video recording comes from the S21 Ultra. This includes a 108MP lens and 8K video recording.
Samsung has also improved and added loads of AI tweaks to the camera system which adapts to different scenes, lighting and positions. This helps not only bright photos but during low light too. There’s also the 100x zoom on the Ultra.
When it comes to the display, the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+include an adaptive 120Hz AMOLED which ranged from 48Hz to 120Hz automatically depending on what you’re doing on the phone. They both pack FHD+ screen resolutions.
The Samsung Galaxy 21 has a 6.2-inch 1080×2400 display and the Galaxy S21+ will include a 6.8-inch 1080×2400 display. When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, this monster phone includes a 6.8-inch 1440×3200 curved display with adaptive 120Hz.
As for the battery life, the Galaxy S21 packs a 4,000mAh battery, the S21+ packs a 4,800mAh battery and the S21 Ultra includes a 5,000mAh cell.
