Samsung Galaxy S23 Unveil Set For 1 February

It is a new year, so Samsung is gearing up to announce its new Galaxy lineup. Usually, the company makes sure the phones are announced and released by the end of February and 2023 is no different. According to a leak on the official Samsung website, the Galaxy S23 Unpacked event is scheduled for 1 February.

While the web page, which has now been deleted, didn’t mention the Galaxy S23 specifically, it did have the words “Galaxy Unpacked – Meet the New Galaxy”. So it doesn’t take a scientist to guess that the event on 1 February 2023 will indeed be the announcement of Samsung’s new flagship phones.

You can check out the archived webpage here (thanks Wayback Machine). The page features a look at three camera sensors that seem flush on a surface. This suggests that Samsung might incorporate a unibody design with the Galaxy S23 and push the lenses into the body instead of jutting them out of the back like previous models.

However, apart from this leak, there isn’t much else to go on. Usually, by now we would have a list of new Galaxy leaks to talk about but it is still too early in the year to report on anything. The Samsung Galaxy S22 basically leaked in its entirety before the reveal so it is just a matter of time before the same thing happens to the Galaxy S23.

If we go on the rumours, the Galaxy S23 will reportedly feature a 200MP camera which is almost double the S22’s 108MP. We also know that the phones will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors which were announced in late 2023.

Samsung is also expected to showcase the Snapdragon Satellite features on the handsets too. It will enable users to send texts without the need for a cellphone signal. Apple introduced this in the iPhone 14 range. However, it is currently very limited to a handful of countries.

We will keep you updated on the Galaxy S23 announcements and leaks as we lead up to the event on 1 February.
