The leak comes from WinFuture which includes a full spec sheet for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. According to the leak, the device packs a 6.7-inch, 22:9 aspect ratio foldable OLED display with a 2636 x 1080 resolution. Unlike the Galaxy Fold which used a plastic-protected display, the Galaxy Z Flip will pack an “Ultra-Thin Glass” and a hole-punch camera in the middle of the display. The outside of the device will also include another 1.06-inch, 300 x 116 resolution OLED panel used to tell the time and show notifications.
Internally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will include some older specs including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device will have a USB Type-C port for charging and audio meaning the phone will not include an audio jack. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will also not support 5G and only LTE.
The camera system includes a dual-lens array featuring a 12 MP main lens and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The inside camera is a 10 MP selfie lens.
The specs in the Galaxy Z Flip are not too bad but not the best in the industry either. This could mean Samsung is looking at targeting a more “affordable” price tag compared to the Galaxy Fold. According to reports, the new foldable device will sell for $1,400 and release on 14 February 2020. While still pricey, it is cheaper than the closest competitor the Motorola Razr that sells for $1,500.
The company will fully reveal the new device on 11 February 2020. Stay tuned for updates.
